Aljira, a Center for Contemporary Art presents source, an information-packed event that provides professional development workshops and networking opportunities designed to help artists jumpstart their careers. Strategic planning intensives, financial planning, time management, and Artist/Curator Portfolio Review sessions with accomplished professionals in the contemporary art field help artists build the skills they need to reach their goals. CALL FOR MONTCLAIR ARTISTS: May in Montclair proudly celebrates its 30th Anniversary Edition in 2009. Montclair artists are invited to submit artwork for the cover of the May in Montclair booklet. While an honorarium in not available, the selected artist will receive full credit, a short bio in the booklet and distribution of 20,000 copies throughout the region. The subject must be tulips. Call for Volunteer Musicians, Artists, Actors, Dancers, Jugglers, Fashion Shows, Church Choirs, Rock Bands, Rap Groups, Comedians etc. Conversations on Race Tenth Anniversary Celebration at
Unitarian Universalist Church of Montclair - Fletcher Hall. For the past ten years, Conversations on Race, has played an important role in building bridges between Montclair area residents. Over 1,000 people have participated. Conversations on Race continues to offer the people of the Montclair area a forum for dialogue on issues of race and race relations - a central topic affecting every aspect of our society and our community. This October 18, we would like to celebrate the contributions of so many who have made this program possible. We are also raising much needed funds for materials in order to make this program even more effective. To celebrate, we are inviting the community to an event to be held at the Unitarian Church on October 18, 7:00pm - 11:00pm, with music, food, and fun. We are providing a stage and sound system and would like to invite you to contribute your special talents to the event. Singers Needed: If you love to sing choral music and are looking for a friendly group of down-to-earth people to sing with, the Chorus of Communities welcomes you!!! Our membership ranges from ages 14 to 80. You should have some previous experience singing with a church choir, a high-school or college choral group, or some other singing group. Call for Artists–The Smithtown Township Arts Council is now accepting entries for its 32nd Annual Juried Fine Arts Exhibition to be held December 6 – 30, 2008, at the Mills Pond House Gallery with cash prizes.
