With an educational background in human behavior, Kime paints from “the inside out.” She transposes complex human emotion into a referendum of social commentary. She has been doing this for over 20 years. Mostly expressionistic and figurative work, Kime uses a vast array of tools and mediums to sculpt and paint the work.
The architectural structure of Kime’s work relies heavily on her ability to view and understand the invisible undercurrents of individuals and their relationships with others. Her vision is acquired through direct contact and interviews. Kime’s cultivated sensitivity for identifying human emotion is a progressive and honest scientific approach in her art process.
Her work is highly influenced by human interconnectedness and interaction. In her travels to different countries, she has acquired a taste for the “off-beaten.” Being born in the US by a Korean mother and Swedish father, Kime is compelled to combine multi-layered cultural complexities in her expression resulting in a biracial Korean/American art- with all the precision and organic yin/yang of Korea mixed into the boldness and empowerment of western society.
It takes between 2 weeks to 2 years to complete each piece of art. Kime’s industrious nature and ability to work on many pieces during the same time period enables the production of new pieces on a weekly basis.
