Bruce Tyler has been involved in nearly all of the Arts programs in the Montclair area for countless years, from his membership in the Montclair Art and Cultural Alliance to his being a co-founder of the Montclair Blues and Jazz Festival which ran for 14 years, to his initial voice in the Montclair Jazz Project. He has been awarded three proclamations from the Township of Montclair for his participation in the Arts and for his work on the Montclair Jazz Project. He is also included on the Glenfield School Wall of Fame in Arts and Education. Bruce has received awards from The National Council of Negro Women, Montclair Chapter and MACA. He was a on the interim Arts Council and is a current member of the Montclair Arts Council Program Committee. Bruce currently performs with The Jazz Prophets (Ike Brown's Mighty Prophets) and the Black Lace Blues Band In addition, Bruce is the Jazz Series coordinator for Sesame Restaurant.
