Artists and Crafters sought for West Orange Art Council’s Ninth Annual ART SCENE AT THE GREEN
 

The West Orange Arts Council invites artists and craftspeople to exhibit at its Ninth Annual Art Scene At The Green, an outdoor fall show and sale celebrating art and music at the Essex Green Shopping Center in West Orange on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M.  The rain date is Sunday, October 3th, 11 A.M. to 5 P.M.  Exhibitors must be available both days. The Application fee is $40.00 and the deadline for applications is September 15, 2010.
 Artists may log onto www.woartscouncil.org for more information or call the West Orange Arts Council at (973)324-9100.  Prospectuses are available on the WOAC website or at Jerry’s Artist Outlet in Essex Green.
 
 In past years, artists have exhibited oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, photography, handmade cards, dolls and pillows, collages, and more. Acclaimed guitar powerhouse Bob DeVos and his organ trio and others will perform throughout the day.
In addition to Jerry’s Artist Outlet sponsoring this event, we are partnering with other local arts groups including Luna Stage, ValleyArts and NJAI to offer an even more exciting day for everyone. As always, there will be art materials demonstrations and children’s activities. Admission for the public is free.
All activities take place in the Courtyard area of Essex Green between Petco and Panera’s.  There is plenty of free parking.

A call for artists - Art Connections 7. Exhibition dates Jnauary 18-February 19, 2011
Art Connections is the annual fund-raising event for the George Segal Gallery – the crown jewel of the Montclair State Art Galleries. Now in its seventh year, Art Connections has grown from a regional exhibit to one of national scope, encouraging artists in all media.

We are inviting artists to apply to this exhibit, which offers an excellent opportunity for exposure and sales in a venue that is widely supported by Montclair State University’s alumni, gallery patrons, and the area’s many collectors, curators, and art dealers.
Postmark Submission Deadline: September 17, 2010

Argos Gallery is an independent organization formed by a group of art professionals, devoted to the care, counseling and dissemination of professional contemporary artists from around the world. Our goal is to discover, support and promote artists whose speeches that are considered trendsetters of today's art. We seek to connect these international artists and establish a long-term relationship.

In this opportunity, Argos Gallery, is inviting to the first edition of Global Faces of Contemporary Art who seek to give a contribution to the art world,facilitating the dispersion of the global art discourses, providing a bibliographic source for future generations, promoting the quality and consistency of the artistic production and strengthening the ties between all kind of professionals involved with art and culture around the world. We are calling contemporary artists of all nationalities, without exception of categories or mediums. To participate in our search of the new names of contemporary avant-garde art, both current and future generations.

The rules, terms and conditions and application form, would be available online from June 25, 2010 on the gallery website: www.argosgallery.com and would be closed on October 01, 2010. Starting on October 25, 2010 the jury will be notifying individually the selected artists.

The selected artists will be exhibited in our online gallery, will receive a one year tutoring by our advisers, will have international publicity and will be part of our biannual art catalog that will be distributed among the major galleries and museums around the world.

The jury will select from digital applications, there are no limitations, but some essential aspects to consider are:
- Work must be original
- Presentation care
- Consistency and coherence in the working process
- Quality of Representation: The photographs and / or work templates must have a resolution of 300 dpi,
- Details annexes will be valued.

OPEN CALL 2010 for artists in residency
Where: Chianti, Tuscany  Italy

Applications are now being accepted for the 2010 at La Macina di San Cresci.
We are located above Greve in Chianti in the heart of Tuscany, between two great cities of the Renaissance: Florence & Siena. The artist residency program provides the ideal combination of living and working in a setting of truly inspirational beauty. Artist residency consist of sojourning from 7 to 90 days, with a possible time extension subject to availability.
This period covers a program based on the personal project proposal presented.
As an archive of activities is scheduled to publish a yearbook representative of the various experiences hosted and produced using photos and texts of artists and events.
The artists with a special interesting project have a public event that offer a venue to test their ideas in a dialog with other artists, and the general public. 
Help will be given from La Macina di San Cresci staff to organize a local exhibition on a theme related to their Residency project.
