The Creative Aging Initiative is an innovative two-part program created by MAC for Montclair's seniors, senior-care providers and interested members of the public. The project's goal is to enrich the lives of the elderly through engagement with the arts, and to proclaim and support their primary place in the community. The first program initiative, a sneak preview of the public television documentary on elder artists, Do Not Go Gently, took place at the Montclair Art Museum in April 2007. The second project, Passports to Remembrance: These Are a Few of Our Favorite Things (April-December 2007), is an ongoing community program telling seniors' personal histories through photographic and storytelling arts.
