The Montclair Gallery Association was founded in the spring of 2006. Its goal is to promote and market the work of Montclair's art galleries. The commercial galleries in the association are Essex Fine Arts, Gallery 51, Gallery Loupe, the Jacklyn Kling Gallery, Midland Gallery, BrassWorks, MFEE/Laraja Gallery @ Montclair Highschool and three nonprofit museum/galleries: the Montclair Art Museum, Studio Montclair's Block Gallery and the George Segal Gallery at Montclair State University. The association publishes a Gallery Guide, which includes a map and information on all the member galleries. Twice a year they host a Gallery Walk. The first Gallery Walk took place in October of 2006, the second in May of 2007.
